It’s been a while since I posted about tech, and I wonder if readers knew my blog is primarily a tech one. xD
Before Microsoft begins selling a new version of its operating system, users and developers will be given chance to sample out the OS for free, in order to collect user feedback and identify bugs and possible areas of improvement. I started taking interest on this practice with Windows 7. Users can either download a web-based installer from Microsoft.com, or an ISO (disc image) of the installer. I had written an extensive post about this here on my blog.
It’s hard to believe that 3 years have already passed, the typical lifespan of an operating system, with the exception of XP, who got a second life with Service Pack 2, extending it to 6 years. Windows 7 is really an excellent OS, and I suspect it’s going to outlive XP in terms of user support. But so many things have changed for the past few years, and now is just the right time to have a refresh of the OS.
